This tract of the Liguria coast, that goes from the municipality of Andora to the French border and is famous for the Sanremo Festival, owes its name to its particularly mild climate, ideal for floriculture.

Holidays on the Liguria Riviera and especially on the Riviera of Flowers are suitable for all, given that the territory presents an alternation of mountains, hills, woods, bays and inlets which offer many opportunities for things to do and see near Diano Marina.

It goes without saying that one of the favorite excursions for guests on holiday on the Riviera of Flowers is a visit to the nearby Cote d’Azur. The vegetable gardens created (not without effort) by peasants on the region’s stone terraces allow the production of low-acidity extra-virgin oil (produced with the well-known “taggiasca” olive, which is also delicious served in brine) and refined wines such as Vermentino and Pigato.

On the Riviera of Flowers you will find both mundane towns located on the coast, particularly suitable for traditional tourism – such as Alassio, Sanremo and Diano Marina itself – and medieval villages perched on the hills – pearls of rare beauty such as Cervo, Triora, Apricale, Dolceacqua, Pigna and Bussana Vecchia.

A FEW RECOMMENDED PLACES TO VISIT:

  • Cervo Near Diano Marina an enchanting medieval town looks onto the sea: Cervo. Don’t miss the splendid view from the square of the majestic Corallini Church. Another interesting site in the town is the ethnographic museum, where you can learn about the lifestyle of the region’s peasants.
  • Imperia In the main city of our province, you should definitely visit the Ponente Ligure International Naval Museum located in the square of the Porto Maurizio Cathedral, and we also recommend the Olive Tree Museum in Imperia Oneglia
  • Savona and Surroundings In Savona and its surroundings, we recommend a walk in the Alassio “budello”, the ancient neighborhood where you will find excellent shopping opportunities. We also recommend visiting the historical center of Albenga.
